Cousin of loss aversion. Owners demand 2-3x more to part with something than non-owners would pay to get the same thing. Affects engineering: code you wrote feels more valuable than code you'd write fresh; the system you built feels worth more than the rewrite would. The opposing instinct (sunk cost) is conflated but distinct.
